I am wondering if anybody here uses GPS either personally or for work. I am NOT talking about the "bird-dog" application where the electronic "sergeant" always knows where you are, but rather the application to help you get around. Now before you berate me for not knowing my area like the back of my hand, you need to know that I am not assigned to patrol, but I do work in a county of over 300,000 residents, so try as I may I still don't know every street in the whole county. I have sort of focused on Garmin StreetPilots, but I am open to suggestions.
The other thing I am considering is getting satellite radio. I have taken the 3 day free trial from both XM and Sirius and right now I am leaning toward XM.
There is actually some Garmin StreetPilots that have a GPS receiver with an XM satellite receiver built in. http://www.garmin.com/products/sp2730/
Anyway, I would like to hear your thoughts on this if you have either GPS or satellite radio. And for those that have both, do you think having them together in one unit is a good idea, or would it be better to have them separate? There are some portable XM radios that look like they would be pretty nice to have for bicycling, horse-back riding, hiking, etc. http://www.xmradio.com/pioneer/
