Yes you still have to buy them, sort of. They have been allowing you to spend 300.00 a year on uniform items, they reinburse you. This year they upped it to 600.00, but only for this year. Don't know how much they allow the new troops initially. Once you get everything, 300.00 will get you by if you are really careful and not to hard on your uniforms, leather, boots, hats, etc.
