Pink(ish) lights?!!!

What's with the pink(ish) red emergency lights? Are they supposed to be safer, or has some manufacturer's color processes gone awry?

I've noticed this exact thing. A few towns away from me use the LED lights. The blue looks like blue but the red looks like a cross between purple and pink. I'm curious to hear the answer to this as well.

Where I am, purple is getting popular with state snowplows. Looks silly.

The LED lights and some strobes have a pink cast to them.

I have not witnessed these however just a thought..maybe to make them stick out and get your attention as they seem to have done. Red blends in with taillights so bad that maybe this is a remedy.

We've got all LEDs and I've never noticed them as being any less red than normal. Are these pinkish lights associated with any one manufacturer?

The red and blue led lights make a purplish hue when the red and blue come on together. They are not purple though. I have never seen pinkish lights though.
