I took ASL1 as a class in college last semester. This semester I'll be taking ASL2. Even though I most likely won't use it very often, I still find it beneficial :)

I think you will be VERY SURPRISED how much you will rely on what you are learning in your ASL classes. Also, Minnesota has an ENORMOUS deaf population! I suggest you contact a local Deaf Service Center and get hooked up with members from the Deaf Community. You will be delighted and will enhance your signing skills!
