just curious if anyone could tell me were i can become a reserve officer while i am still in school to gain some experience or if anyone has any ideas of were i could get a good start in law enforcement.

Talk to your local department (and departments within a mile radius you are comfortable with) and see what they can offer.

Many sheriff's departments in this state have reserve deputies. These positions have varying powers and duties. For example, reserve deputies in Mcdonough County carry firearms, while reserve deputies in Lake County do not. If you have questions about specific units, I can try to answer them for you, as I have worked with reserve deputies in various counties.
Being a reserve deputy is a good way to learn about law enforcement and to get your foot in the door with a department. Keep in mind that you must live in the county in which you are a reserve deputy. This is non-negotiable state law.

yes thanks sig for the info i have information about mcdonough county as i am currently going through there reserve deal now but didnt know if there was anything else i need to know. Anywas thanks for the info
