I was just curious when you obtain a ticket, and go to traffic school, does it still reflect if an officer does a check on your licence, or any department?

Not in California. With your other question, are you asking about background checks? Most LE agencies in CA have a set number of moving violations you can have before you are DQ.

In CA it depends on which record you pull up. The regular record that your insurance agency gets won't show it but the one that your BI pulls up will show it. That said, the records only go back so many years before they drop off.

Wont show up here. But don't try to hide it during your BI. It would be silly to get disqualified because you were trying to hide something as simple as a traffic ticket.

The reason why I ask is I got a speeding ticket and Following to closely ticket each 3 years apart. (I do not feel the following to closely was a legitimate call, especially in 55MPH traffic when everyone was bumper to bumper.) Anyways besides the point, when or if I go in for a BI should I tell them about the Speeding violation because I went to DMV and got a 10yr history report and all the reflects is my Following to closely. I do not mind telling him, but I was just curious. I have only have two tickets in my life, so I don

They will ask you how many violations you have ever received. This includes parking tickets, toll violations, speeding, ect. You are expected to list everything ever.

Why is this even an issue big enough to ask on the forum? If you are thinking about being deceitful about traffic violations then there has to be things you are actually hiding from the BI. Look, if they ask you about any traffic violations, just tell them! Don't play games or give them the run round. It's a traffic ticket. Who the hell cares? So you got two tickets in your life do you really think it's going to be a big deal to your BI? No. He is going to look at your driving record and say "Yup, looks like he was honest with me." Then he will proceed to put your driving record either in the garbage or in the bottom of the pile and never give it thought again. If he does happen to ask you about it just take responsibility for it. If you do that then he will see an honest individual who takes responsibility for his actions. Do you see how you can use this to your advantage?
Now, let

What agency in CA are you going for? The reason I'm asking is that there is probably a few cops from that agency on this board and they might know how nit picky they are about that. For example, my agency is two moving violation convictions in two yrs or 3 moving violation conviction in 3 yrs is grounds for DQ.

Im going for CHP. I have no intest in being decietful, I am mearely intrested in how tickets reflect. For example, if I pulled someone over and he/she stated this is their first speeding ticket ever, and I run their file, and he/she previously had a speeding violation and took traffic school, would I pull "No violations" or would I pull the speeding violation in which he/she went to traffic school for. I have no reason to lie, its petty, especially if you want to be a peace officer (its a bad trait to have). I was just curious on how the system worked. However, I would like to know what CHP is picky on.

If I simply pull you over and run you, tickets which were dismissed will not show up. A deeper background investigation could bring something up but a simple check out on the street will show nothing.
