Academy question?

I'm currently trying to get on with ICE, but one question that concerns me is, while your at the academy, do you get a paycheck? I have 2 children and a wife. The wife works, but not currently because we are about to have our third child, literally. How does that work?

Yes, you get a paycheck while at FLETC. You will start getting your LEAP once you get out (1811). For the IEA job, there is not chance of getting AUO until you get out of FLETC.

That totally depends on various factors.

Where you are stationed (locality pay)
What GS pay grade you start at

Go to OPM.gov and look it up. If you get on with ICE, look under the LEO pay scale, check the location they are offerring you the job in, then check your GS grade (typically it will be a GS-5 or GS-7).

Remember, you will move up to the next highest pay grade after a year (GS-5 to GS-7 to GS-9, and so on.)

Go to the ICE website and read around. Not trying to be rude, but you have a lot to learn, which tells me you are years from getting an offical offer.
