Want to pursue a LE career. Live in Hernando County. Just contacted PHCC and the January academy class is full. Any suggestions on what agencies sponsor or what other academies I can apply to. Thanks.

As for getting sponsored... it depends on the individual agency. Find some agencies you'd like to work for and contact them to see if they sponsor recruits in the academy.

Withlacochee Technical Institute in Inverness has a Law Enforcement Academy. It's not to far from you.

I believe HCC is still accepting applications for the Feb. academy class, but the deadline is fast approaching.

I've "heard" orange county is going to be sponsoring quite a few to Valencia CC academy in the next year. However they will likely be looking for applicants with prior military and/or 4 year college. Best of luck to you.

The next open FWC class is in '07.

If you want a sponorship my advice is broaden your horizons. Start making a list of all the agencies in areas you would like to work in/move to, and start calling.
