Well, Fla has been in the news alot lately and I dont know what to say. The 15 year old Autistic Child was tased literaly 100 FEET from my front door of my condo. The Man Tased in the Nutzzz was about 3 min from my condo as well. Funny how they dont tell the GOOD news... HAHA and the best part is, i am awaiting fingerprints to come back so i can hopefully get hired in Lee COunty.

i work out with a officer who was on scene and he said the news forgot to mention how doped up she was and how far gone she already was. Yes, the SO is HOPEFULLY sponsoring me to go to the acadamy i was called for my Polly today, I set it up for Tues at 8 am. I am so nervous about this process, I mean, I cant stop thinking about it for one second.

I figured the lady that died was full of something. But you know how the media loves to make it sound like the tazer itself was the cause of the death. Hopefully everything works out for you. I should be applying with them next month sometime once I finish the corrections academy. LE class is about to graduate, so chances are you will have to wait maybe May-June for the next academy if you get sponsored.

If you are starting in corrections, then you shouldn't have any trouble finishing everything up in time. We don't graduate until Jan 24th, so the next class won't start until some time in February I assume. I have a good friend who failed out of this class who will be attending the next one, as will a bunch of other people I know who have failed out in the past few weeks.

We started with like 53 people and are now down to 38 if that tells you anything. I find the academy to be very easy, but I'm one of those people who doesn't really need to study to retain information. Pretty sure I'm top of the class right now, and the goal is to stay there for the remainder of the academy.

The hardest part of it all is retaining all the information for the tests. For example, the last test we took covered 108 pages of information over a week and a half. Although the information was fairly common sense, it was still a ton of information. Likewise, some of the blocks of instructions don't cover a ton of information, but it's very technical in nature, like legal stuff. PT isn't that bad. I'm not in the best shape, but I'm able to make all the requirements. Regardless, FDLE has dictated that an individual does NOT need to meet the physical requirements. So as long as you can meet the physcial requirements for your given agency, it doesn't really matter what you do in the academy because they can fail you out because of it. DT is a PITA. They kill us with PT and we get thrown around and stuff all day in class. But it is a nice break from the normal class room session. We get sprayed next Friday, so that should be interesting.

Our class is M-F 7- 4:30. I know the last class was Tuesday - Saturday in the evenings. Let me know if you have any specific questions concerning the academy.
