pro or con?

PA is about to have the most slots besides las vegas.

we have limited casinos in NY Indian casinos and some small racinos that are slots only run by the lottery.

I think NY if they ever got their head out of the sand could turn Niagra falls into a bigger tourist draw nationwide if they approved even 5 mega casinos there.

a casino or a large vlt casino by the beach is definitly needed to save the " fast ferry" from rochester to toronto.

Those poor taxpayer in Rochester will be paying for that long after it goes belly-up next summer.

Casinos: Yes, all in favor. I'd love to see NF really develop that posibility. I go to the one there now, occasionally. But if it were a destination, I'd make a weekend of it.

The only way anything can be done to help Niagara Falls is to allow the Senecas to take over the entire downtown area. Everytime the city, county or state government has tried to encourage growth in the downtown area it has failed miserably(sp?). I want to know how a tethered hot air baloon ride is expected to "save the city" as the mayor had stated. Or the Aqaufalls project that just filled up with water. Third Street used to be a good time just loaded with bars, now it is dead. The only thing worth going to in Niagara Falls is the casino and the Factory Outlet Mall. Until the politicians and developers can pull their heads out of their anal orifices nothing, not even more casinos, will save that city. If you want to have a complete night of dinner, gambling, partying, etc.. go to the Canadian side.

Why does it need to be the Senecas? Only Indians know how to run casinos? Guess you've never been to Atlantic City or Las Vegas.

that seems to be a problem statewide....

politicians in NY love to talk but the results are poor meanwhile the population continues to leave for places like North carolina or west....
maybe with a new governor the state can make some moves but if past experience is a quide then NY will always be wondering why other states are attracting jobs and NY is losing them.

in downtown Buffalo, and make it into a casino. It used to be the DL and W RR, or something like that. Anyway, it's vacant now. What a great choice.

I still don't know why you have to be indean to get a gaming license in this state, but that's another matter.

I agree with you but to change things would need a change in the constitution in NY. Givin that upstate and downstate can not agree on anything the chance of that is slim to none.

if you listen to a politician from upstate and downstate in the same room its hard to see how they could ever be from the same state,

sadly while these politicians talk buffalo rochester and syracuse are headed nowhere fast.

Kodak will be down to 6,000 people soon in rochester GM is closing plants ect ect...

there are huge industrial buildings in rochester that sit empty along with shopping malls that are mostly empty...

the state has to find new jobs that are not walmart to try and replace the mass exit that is happening now if not if they continue with nothing but lip service as they do now, then when Rochester is the size of binghamton or worse in population noone will be surprised.
