Been away for awhile getting hitched and on my honeymoon :D .

As I suspected I have been DQ'ed from one agency after the results of my VSA testing. There's not really much I can do at this point, but I did want to tell the group, since I do fall into that category of folks who told the truth and still ended up failing. I know there was one question they didn't like the answer to, but they never told me what it was. Such is life.

I am still in the process with another agency for a Feb. academy. I haven't passed the polygraph with them yet, which concerns me. If you can tell the truth and fail on the VSA, you can do the same with the polygraph.

The stats:

VSA = 1 for 2
Poly = 1 for 1 with another one coming

Congrats on your nuptials! Sorry about the DQ.

Good luck on your upcoming polygraph. Try not to think too much about it(easier said than done I know). I think they are as accurate as reading tea leaves but good luck on your next flip of a coin with the polygraph.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just keep a positive attitude and keep plugging away. When I started out 16 years ago, I applied with about a dozen agencies locally. I started processing with three of them and was DQ'd. The third one ended up hiring me.

Keep plugging at it "karpassi", not everyone passes on their first go-around. Good luck.

Thanks guys! I'm staying positive, it's just frustrating. Unfortunately, this is one of the steps in the process that I can't prepare for or control. If the machine or the tester or the "objective" post-evaluation deems that I am not telling the truth, I can't do anything about it. I know several cops who know me well and think I would be a good fit. I have nothing in my past to DQ me...blah, blah, blah, we've all heard it before. It's just frustrating.

Incidentally, I'm actually more interested in the agency just down the road that I am still in the process with. I feel like I can do more good in the other community, and it will give me a chance to get involved with some gang policing and prevention, which is an interest of mine. So, all in all it's not a big deal. I just hate that I told the truth and still ended up failing, but I do realize that it happens.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!
