I am have a little less than one year left on my contract with The Marine Corps, and after eight years of service, have hopes of going back to Houston and joining the PD. However, in '96, two years prior to joining The Corps, I was arrested and subsequintley convicted of a class a (or b, I cant rememer) theft, I was caught up in a loss prevention investigation, I was sentenced to deffered adjudication, and given 1 year of probation and community service. Since then I have conducted myself admirably in my career and recieved numerous decorations, some for actions in Iraq, and glowing fitness reports. Is my past going to kill any chances I have at a career in law enforcement? Also I have to visible tattoos, one on the inside of each forearm. Neither is offensive in nature, the one on my right is "USMC" and an alligator on my left... Any feedback would be greatly apprecitted. Thanks.

I did some research, it was a class b, I was a retail manager at the time, and convicted of doing approximatley $235 of fraudulent returns, in reality it was my assistant, but they were done under my key, and I know it sounds cliche, but my lawyer advised me it was best just to plead...
