I am heading down to D.C. for the USCP test next weekend.
I have bought all the Police test booklets but they are all so different in their approach. I was wondering if anyone out there has taken the USCP test and can give me some insight as to what I can expect. I had heard that there is no math on the test? is that true? vocabulary? essay? spelling? picture memorization? general test questions or things specific to police work?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes to...math,vocab,spelling,general BS
no to...police stuff,pictures,essay
7-8th grade level stuff....SUPER EASY and expect about 300 people with more then half failing the test...sad but true
This test is gravy so relax and don't sweat it
GL with the process

Took the test back in March. Aced the math, 95 on reading comprehension and 82 on vocabulary, overall score 92. I used the study guide (Arco) just to get myself familiar with the format. Pay attention to the questions and don't rush. There is a time limit but you'll have more than enough to finish. If you managed to graduate high school you should be alright. If you have some post secondary courses you'll be more than alright. The test is the easy part getting info and feedback from you investigator once you turn in your package is what's difficult. Finished the process a month ago and still haven't heard a word from anyone. Good Luck!

i currently work for the uscp as an officer. As for the test, if you passed high school you can pass this. As for hiring, we are only hiring 44 this year. Since they onoy have one test for all of FY07 I assume there will probably be at leat 1000 plus applicants, who knows? We are under extreme scrutiny from the congress in regards to our budget and they only authorized 44 for FY07. I hope this helps.
Also make sure you wear a suit and tie to the test phase, they can be picky and will weed you out if you dont show up looking professional. As for the test dont sweat it, its **** simple!

How about FY06( maybe I have the FY screwed up)...I was told about 100....I was also told that out of 300+ that took the test with me they were down to under 15 left in the process. This was before the poly which I passed. I tested in June. Also,I believe testing stops after Dec. this year

Just wanted to update everyone on how the test went this morning...thanx for asking. I don't mean to seem arrogant but if you failed this test you deserve to be dragged out in the courtyard and shot. That was the easiest test I have ever taken. To anyone else considering USCP...review your 3rd grade arithmetic and spelling and you should be fine. The test booklets were overly-complicated and beyond reviewing the basics they didn't really help. I'm predicting a 100 on the first 2 sections and a 90 on the last section.
Oh and P.S. make sure you do some research on the job you're testing for so you don't ask stupid questions and pay attention to the prerequisites so you don't waste your time driving to the test site.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me.

The sad thing or good thing is that I bet at least half failed it.

An update for anyone that cares. I got my scores tonight, and all I can say is....damn I'm good! Well at predicting my score anyway. Just as I suspected I got a 100% on sections I and II and a 90% on section III. Not as good as I would have liked but I guess...as they say "good enough for government work!"
Thanks for those of you that had your fingers crossed for me, and anyone else that cared too.
