Having just watched a TV programme out here on Bail Bondsmen ("Bail Enforcement Agents"/"Bounty Hunters"), I was curious as to how they are viewed by US Law-Enforcement, and what those experiences have been?
We do not have anything like this in South Africa (probably just as well).
Any positives, negatives?

as long as they are carrying a copy of the bond.and their supreme court decision card...other places....they look like...hell's angels types.
we are used to them...a nessasary evil.

Copy that - thanks for the feedback guys. I expected feedback to be along these lines. I have read the "training course" in the US is generally in the region of two-days and they're out on the street. If it's anything like our Security, then amatuers are the order of the day more often than not.
I do recall seeing a video of one doing an "entry" into a house (back door) and getting shot, wearing snake-skin boots (similar to the picture above - haven't seen this movie yet however), but he goes in for more and gets shot again. :D
Now the US Marshals A.R.T. (Arrest Response Teams) are to my liking. Different breed of professionals of course! *s*
Stay safe everyone, and thanks again for the feedback!

3 in my immediate area are ex-cops. There's pretty good money in it if you pick and choose your clients well. :)

SHERIFF : I was wondering about that, how many LEO's went private into that line of work, and vice-versa(?). I think it's one thing to own a legitimate company with professional operators, however they are just too far and few between.
I can see getting into trouble with Law-Enforcement on a regular basis, and from that perspective things are generally easier here with national laws, and I also have a hard time keeping up with what is legal in one State versus another. Of course, it wouldn't work in the US because God knows it would be the left wing and anti-gun BS that we are now dealing with on our shores, which is also starting to cripple our Police Service etc. (long story).
KalCop : Haven't seen it, but it sounds like something that would appeal to my sick sense of humour! *LOL!* :D
