I don't know if this is the right forum but here goes...

Ok I was on this forum how do I get some one to look at a forum or shut it down. Now the owner is not doing anything. And on this forum they were calling me Racist names. I had a link to a site that could help but I no longer have it.Also i don't want other to go through what I had to go through.

If you can, find the ISP internet service provider and document and complain to them (like yahoo or earthlink).

.....as one who is personally familiar with your perdicament of being libeled on a wedsite or two....

First, a reaction is what they want. Don't give it to them.

Second, if they are careful, there is precious little that you can do. The ISP TOS is the first place to look, but if they have that ISP in their back pocket you are wasting your time. The only other course of action is to go to an attorney, but the type of people who do stuff like this seldom care about letters from attorneys anyway. The rub being that in order to prove a case, you almost have to prove they are accurately describing you. Sort of counter productive.

I know how hard it can be at times knowing it's out there, but sometimes the best thing you can do is to let the little circle of loosers look at the site and slap each other on the back and laugh...all the while not even realizing that no one else will even ever see it.

Ok, let me get this straight. You go over to a forum, register, then accuse them of calling you racist names after you did the same exact thing to them in return.

Here are some things that you said to members of Offtopic.com in this thread you speak of where you were offended:
"Just like your mother you white cracker"
"Are you done you white trash?"

And you want someone to direct you about shutting the forum down due to YOU being offended?

First of all, if you get offended, you can't just assume you have the power to shut it down. You have no power - and under no circumstances will EVER have the power - to shut a forum down. Ever. You have to either take the heat, or leave (defeated). You choose.

Secondly, others don't go through what you went through. They've been on the internet for longer than two hours (or at least behave as such), and understand that if you post ridiculous things, you're going to get ridiculous comments back.

So to sum up the facts:

1) You can't do anything, and never will be able to do anything about this. Simply take it, learn from it, and change your behavior on the internet.

2) It is ridiculous that you even posted this here. You call other people racist names in your own thread, and want retaliation? Good luck with that.

3) OffTopic.com was correct for banning you. You called them racist names after deciding that you didn't like the responses to your thread. That's when you adapt your behavior to THEIR forum (not yours...you have no power there).

4) Ever heard of Terms of Service? It's part of life at any forum? Don't like them? Leave. Plain and simple.

If you are asking this question to law enforcement officers who have to deal with being chided and messed with all day from people who are just upset to being arrested and ticketed then you are barking up the wrong tree. Turn the other cheek and be the bigger person. There will always be a-holes in this world and we know better than anybody. Karma eventually weeds out the offenders over time. Trust me! If I have to take that garbage at a private residence or on the side of the road with a smile then you should learn to control your temper. These people are trying to get a rise out of you and they have. You let them win when you lose it like that.

There is a little known ignore feature that can be applied to every forum on the internet. It resides in your brain and it is SUPER easy to use. Censorship is not the answer; thick skin is.

Jeez; you are from America too. If these people are so ignorant and stupid that they will call you names instead of making taking part in discussion maybe you should quit their forum.

Well about the racial slurs sometimes it is what comes around goes around. If someone choses to show their mentality via resorting to racial inuendos the simple response to that is do not stoop to their level. This may make a few mad but I hate constantly seeing the racial card pulled. That may be shown as a double standard. Is it ok for someone to do while not others? A seemingly little remembered saying of "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" might quel much of the problems that are common when leading to physical assaults.

The internet allows people to act in behavior they would never show in person, for fear of humiliation. Such as this forum, would it be common to be able to approach an officer in public to ask them advice regarding a traffic ticket? One thing I have been told many times is never ask a cop about the law. Remember they enforce they do not defend it.

If I chose to resort to a verbal assualt on a persons character it can be in multitude of manners rather than resorting to the racial slurs. Then again why would I need to resort to that? If their mentality shows no common sense for courtesy or respect why should I stoop to their level?

As to shutting down a forum you can if it is your's. Other than that just as you joined you have the option of not returning or ignoring. The other posts had very good info as well. The net is full of people that chose to load it with disgusting BS.
