what exactly are they looking for. What do they do? I know an EKG but is it like a normal physical you would get?

I just had one, it's just a basic physical.
It consisted of:
TB skin test (they did 2, took about a week and a half)
they took blood looking for stuff like cholesterol, etc.
Blood pressure, listen to breathing
Urine drug test
EKG
All that was done by a nurse, when the Dr. came in he made sure I could bend, twist, stand, move my neck, he was there about 5 minutes. Whole medical probably took about 20 minutes max. (not counting the week I had to wait between TB tests). I also had a hearing test for my department.

What is the TB skin test?

It's to screen for tuberculosis. They inject you with the stuff and you go back 48 hours later to have them look at the skin to see the results.
