Hello to all that reads this post. I have a question that most duke of hazzard fans that want to build a Hazzard Co. Police Replica car would like to know. I do have a car that is the right year and model and I bought a light bar that is the same that is on the police car in the show. It had all clear lens however I did paint them blue and read as it is in the show.

After I rebuild the car and add the hazzard delcals and put this home made light bar that is only for show. to make it work I will have to get out of the car and flip a switch on the bar it self.

My plan is to build a cowing that fits over the light bar so that I could drive it on the street. Would this be trouble? also if the car is on a trailer would I get a ticket if the lights are not covered?

The rest of the time I will take to car shows and to the duke fest to show off the car or just drive it around with the lights covered up. I don't treat my shows cars like fine china I like to drive them too.

I live in okla. thanks for any input and thanks for everything you police officers do for us avg joes.

Not to discredit this site, as it is the only LE forums I participate in, but as far as the hobby of restoring and collecting historic police vehicles...

...check out www.CopCar.com and its' boards.

Trouble is if light bar works and it's not covered in correct manner suitable to
according to law you will get a ticket a rather costly ticket

DISCLAIMER: Previous advise from me on this topic was for if he was talking about restoring classic police cars.

If he is refering to say have a Clown Vic, then no, get a life.
