Tactical

What exactly is tactical? I know of an agency who has a traffic enforement unit, however they have combined tactical with it, whatever it is.

Are you sure it's the full word 'tactical'? Our county has TAC cars...Traffic and Accident Control.

Basically a unit designated to respond to and handle a designated type of situation. Officers are trained in advanced tactics etc. If it were a perfect world they would be on the streets responding to those type calls alone but because of budget and manpower issues they are out there with the rest of us doing grunt work also.
