Arlington, VA/Alexandria, VA PD

Hey is there anyone on the board on either of these departments?

What's the hiring process like?
Is it supercomepitive, the more college the better, military?
Do you like it there?
How are oppourtunities for training/advancement compared to DC/MD?

I currently live in Hampton Roads, VA but I'm not limiting my job search just to where I live.

I work in Northern Virginia. The pay studies are in and Montgomery is the best pay and has the best bennies. Fairfax and DC come in second. As far as Arlington and Alex they are fairly big departments. the bigger the better more room for advancement. Aslo remember the housing cost here is enormous. I mean unless you have family that live here you ll be living far away. The traffic is bad. Alot of things to consider besides the job. Both agencies are very busy and undermanned. Apply and attempt to do a ride along. Both departments have good people there. Good luck
