He recently made national news by reopening 5 of the "Missing & Murdered Children" cases from the late 70's-early 80's (5 of the 20-something cases attributed to Wayne Williams were in Dekalb's jurisdiction.) As the Chief of Detectives for Fulton Co. PD at the time, he was part if the Task Force. He's never thought Wayne was the right man (nevermind the killings stopped after Wayne was in custody.) The CEO of Dekalb has been in trouble that last year or so with one scandal after another, so alot of folks think he reopened the cases to take some media heat off his boss.
Do you remember what the rumors were about when he left Fulton? I've forgotten.
