I do not know anything about the department but I believe they will be at a Law Enforcement Job Fair on June 11th.
Here is the web address:

Hope this helps.

I took the test a few years ago. I only scored around 80-something but got a call pretty fast. Their training is very long, one of the longest I've ever heard of in LE. Reason is they are certified and sworn in three jurisdictions: DC, VA and MD.
At the test, they said you first attend a full VA academy (20 weeks). Then you go to their academy for DC and MD, which takes another 14 weeks. When you add on FTO time, that's almost a year of training.
Thanx also looking at Metro Washington Airport Authority but wondering if this one may be a tad on the boring side?
It also looks as if OT is not really available with these 2 departments?

I'm sure there are boring posts in any transit police dept. It's just that these agencies are usually more security-oriented. Doesn't mean there won't be some excitement too. I imagine that working the metro or a bus station in DC late at night would produce some action. They do have some detective units, and probably K-9 and other special details as well.
And if you don't like it, take your training/experience elsewhere. Having a 3-state certification gives you a lot of options. If I remember correctly, WMTA PD requires a 2 year commitment after they train you.
Not sure about overtime at these agencies. All I can say about overtime is, if the base salary isn't enough for you, don't take the job on the promise of overtime. Overtime is one of the first cuts when an agency has budget problems.
I guess a 3 state cert. can get you a nice PT gig somewhere also..... I did see they have some UC divisions which might be fun

By PT gig do you mean work for metro and work for another PD part-time? This may be a problem, if WMTA PD prohibits other police employment. Also, I wouldn't recommend taking a police job with the intention of doing another police job part-time. I realize that this is common in some parts of the country, where police are not paid well and need 2 jobs to make ends meet, but it is not as common and is often prohibited in the Northeast.
My best advice is take the first police job you can get and then examine your options. Like I said, WMTA's training gives you plenty of those. You can apply for DC Metro, any of the federal police agencies in DC, MD PD's like Montgomery and PG county, or VA PD's like Alexandria and Fairfax County.

PT was meant as possibly security type stuff where allowed....I am already in the process for 3 fed jobs and DC metro and PG Park, just looking at other areas to possibly apply.
Transit PD and MDSP are prolly on my list but I just came across the Airport Authority site.

One thing that always seemed odd about DC Metro Transit cops is that they have jurisdiction in DC, VA, and MD.. yet they dont take a poly for the dept, but to be a police in MD, a poly is mandatory. How does the Metro hiring process get around that?

I gotta ask, what does the Police poly entail for MD?

Remember that their jurisdiction is for Metro transit property. They do get involved with alot. They have a voice anyalzer instead of poly. Good department, alot of walking. Good luck.
Took their POST today and passed which leads to next Saturday's fitness test. I was told today that the application process could take as little as 3 months and the have 40 openings they are trying to fill.
Well what a **** day today was.....left my house at 4:30 am this morning to arrive at sire around 6am BUT nooooooooooooooooooooo
Car fire,5 car accident, then 10miles of traffic due to 1 lane open on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Va. because of construction which some areas of Maryland aren't aware of due to not being able to get DC/VA news channels on TV...Called at 6:45 and was still 45 minutes from site. Was told to just reschedule as they won't wait long because it's 105 freaking degrees here today...Reschedule for Sept.3   ...can;t do that cause I'm out of town, have to call Monday to see what we can work out.
