I am looking into Tallahassee PD, I am currently working a Police Officer here in Indiana. I searched for info on TPD on here and seen there was 2 post back in 2004 but no real feedback. If anyone is on TPD or near by please send some info this way. Is it a good department, pay for the area, and how is the relationship with the brass VS. officers? Any info would be appreciated. :)

A good friend of mine worked out there for 20 some odd years, then retired to open up a restaurant. Good officers, good morale, decent pay. Talahassee is the capitol of the state, so they pay some cash to keep everything looking and running good. It is a large city, with some upscale parts, and some crap holes---so you get a good mix. The have good equipment, and lots of opp. for adv. Hope that helps.

I lived in Tallahassee for almost five years and did my internship with the sheriff's department there. I now work in south florida. TPD doesn't have a very good reputation with the community. They hire a lot of kids straight from college and a lot with cocky attitudes. I can give plenty of examples of why you would not want to work there, but hey every department has its good and bad qualities. There is talk of consolidation with the sheriff's office. If you have any other questions you can PM me.

I tried to get on with TPD a few years ago when my GF at the time was going to school at FSU. Made it through everything, interview, polygraph, psyc, phsyical...and then nothing. After a week I called and was told They no longer needed any officers. Oh well
