Palm Beach Gardens Florida info?

Can anybody give me any information on Palm Beach Gardens PD in Florida? I have 5 years of experience in NC and this is one of the departments I've looked at moving to. Their website sounds like it would be a great place to work, but the cost of housing looks insane! I'd like any info on working or living in this area of Florida. Cost of living, housing, treatment of officers, department funding, etc. I plan on going down there this summer and doing a few ride-alongs and checking out the area, but I'd like a heads up on what to look for before I head that way.

My info is that unless you know someone near the top you have next to no chance of getting on with that dept.
