can anybody tell me what steps to take for a PA certified ofc to get hired in a maryland dept. and what is the easiest dept to get into without doing a police academy again...]please help me i want out!!!!

Try these P.D's, Greenbelt P.D., Hyattsville P.D., Riverdale Park P.D., Bladensburg P.D., Laurel P.D, University Park P.D., Morningside P.D., Cheverly P.D., All these department are in P.G. County Maryland, most have web sites but you might have to call a few. Make sure you tell the recruiters you are a current officer or academy graduate from PA. All will send you to comparitive compliance training to obtain a MD certification. The training is approx. 5 to 6 weeks. All these departments are short staffed and generaly have a relativley quick hiring process. The only daw back is you will have to sign a 1 to 2 year contract. P.G County is very busy area to work in, it is well know for homicides, roberies, bergularies, carjackings, stolen autos, citizen armed roberies, etc., etc,. good luck, you will need it.,.

Where in PA are you working? PG county is not much better, its got a high crime rate meaning you will be busy which is a good thing right???

I was close to moving to Virginia last year, Fairfax Cty. but the high, I mean HIGH cost of living gave me 2nd and 3rd thoughts. Maryland is alittle better but I hear property taxes are high. There are alot more jobs of any kind there though.
I kinda wish I was a little younger, We woulda moved to that area, providing I got hired. I like the Frederick County area and love Baltimore but Balto. is a crime cesspool...
