I need some help! I'm flying to Anchorage on April 15 for a test on the 16th. Has anyone out there taken the Anchorage written test lately and can help? Any info. will help, the trip is very expensive. Tks.

As far as I know its the same one I took 5 years ago. Its the basic Nelson-Denny test (reading,vocab). You will also have the video test which is just common sense scenarios. In my opnion you really can't study for these. If you can't read or write or have no common sense by this point then there isn't much you can do.

I took and passed the APD written test last summer. You first take a written Nelson-Denny vocabulary and reading comprehension test which is timed. You then take the FrontLine video exam which shows you 56 scenarios in which you choose the best course of action to take in the given situation. I think that's the toughest for most people. The last part is the FrontLine writing test in which you view a short "incident" and then write a half to full page report on it from memory. Like That Guy said, if you can read, write, and have some common sense then you should do just fine. I believe if you pass that then you take the physical agility test, interview, and the written psych test all in the same week since you are out of state. Good luck.
