Can anyone tell me exactly what is on the CJBAT and is there any way to prepare for the test? Are there any study guides out there that can help me get ready for it? Any info that you have would help alot!

The CJBAT is very basic stuff...grammar, spelling and I believe some math. I seem to recall a section on deductive reasoning as well. But it's been a little while...
I do remember that it was a very easy test, so I would not worry too much about it. Having a high score doesn't really help you in the hiring process anyway. Just pass sufficiently and you'll be fine.

Cake walk. I bought the study guide. Really the guide was a waste of money, b/c i did the thing and got a 98%, but it gave me confidence. I took the test the next day and got a 95%. So basically you shouldent stress too much about it, but if you are go ahead and grab the study guide, and you'll see that you dont have anything to worry about. Good luck, if you have any questions about it, PM me

It sounds a lot like the ASVAB test you take to join the military. If it is then it should be no problem it is all command knowledge you should of picked up on through out the yrs.

... it's really, really, really easy. It's basically like a reading test. There's a story and the answers are there. I think there might be a little bit of math and some spatial type things. I don't think it's really anything you can study for.. it's all very, very basic.

Don't go crazy over this test. It's Easy basic stuff you've learned growing up.
If I remember correct it's 125 questions. Pass is 80% or above.
This Test is Nothing. They have one test for Corrections and one for Law Enforcement. Make sure you get the right test.
Good Luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.
The real Test's come in the Academy and The State Exam.
The ultimate Test Comes on the Job.

I'm taking all those test in May. the first week. I was wondering if anyone has any info on the obstacle and the PT part, what has to be done, and if it's hard. I am transfering from NY to Fl, I work for the Sheriff's office now, but I still have to take the tests. Any info from someone who took the PT. Also is the swim test hard, I hear you have to tread water for 5 minutes..ouch...

It depends on where you're taking the tests. In Broward County, the swim test is one lap in long pants and t-shirt. The PT test is an obstacle course, half-mile run, vehicle push and a standing long jump.

What's the obstacle consist of? I'm trying to get as much info as I can, so I'm not suprised when I get there. At the Sheriff academy, they told everyone one thing, then when you got there, depedning on when you showed up, you had to do different things, and some were very hard. Just curious as to the whole process. thanks

It's kind of hard to describe the obstacle course in detail. It's one of those things you have to see for yourself. There's a six-foot wall scale, monkey bars and a series of small fences/walls to be cleared. Again, this is specific for Broward County. If you call the Insititute of Public Safety (the academy) they can send you a brochure that tells you exactly what the obstacle course looks like.

Actually I got a packet in the mail, is this the same as the agility test. The obstacle has a bunch of different obstacles. Do you have to do push up's, sit up's and pull up's as well. I want to make sure I'm ready for this...Thanks

Is there a way to prepare for the PT? I know about the six foot wall, but Im not used to climbing walls or fences, the reason I ask is because, it is always good to know what to expect,ex. if I get to the wall part and I have never gone over a wall,Im gonna lose time figuring out how Im gonna go over, not that I cannot climb over, but if I practice it is going to be in my muscle memory.

I live in CT and flew to FL to take the CJBAT test. I took mines at Palm Beach Community College(lake Worth Campus). The cost was $25 and once you pay you go down to the computer lab and take the test it's computerized. The test scores are valid for 2 years and you need a 70 to past.i live in NY too, and i was looking at ft. lauderdale PD. to take the CJBAT, how do i get an appointment to take it? do i have to go down there and apply, then come back to take it whenever my appt is? or can i call and make an appt then go down when i need to? i just dont want to have to be flying back and forth constantly.

The best way to prepare for the course is to prepare for the wall. It is the first obstacle and the most intimidating. Its made of CBS block and has a slightly rounded concrete top. They let you take a running start, I suggest finding a similiar wall and practicing. Once your past the wall the rest is cake. Good luck :)

I took the CJBAT about 1.5 or so ago, I took it for MDPD, but they just took forever to contact me so now I want to go into BSO, can I use the same scores and submit them to BSO?
Thanks in advance

You should be able to use the same scores for BSO because I believe that the CJBAT is good for 2 yrs. Good luck.
