So im almost done with the background investigation stages of the process...
i called my background investigator to let him know that i got my highschool transcript and i asked to confirm his mailing PO box so i could send it out today.
well he said i need to meet him at the divisional HQ to talk and i could hand it to him then, then goes on to say "reason for this is because i found out some information from another department you previously applied to so we need to talk..."
Well i took a polygraph with a county agency back when i was 18 years old for the position of police cadet(not police recruit). I am assuming that there was something that i told the county agency that i may have forgoten to tell the VSP polygraph operator that my BI found as a point of interest.
i passed the poly, im not stressing the results, but i am wondering, should i stress this meeting at all? i didnt lie to him or purposely withhold information, and if i did withhold any information it was an honest mistake most imperfect humans make. we sometimes forget.
Will something like this definently abort my process? or are the background investigators more understanding when it comes to minor issues or snags like these?
my friends believe it to be a minor ordeal, and so does my family, im just on edge about it because of the seriousness in his voice... i understand that the BIs need to maintain a stern attitude during the investigation, but im still stressing the fact that my application process could be halted for an honest mistake.
Im not worried about my background because i know its clean, but the thought of being denied over a mix up between polygraph examiners or with holding information... i mean ive been through enough of these, i know departments share information. which is why im hoping he understands if this is the case.
anyone with advice?
