anybody have any info on what it is like working there,, they seem to be hiring alot,, is it a good palce to work? hard to get on? thanks!

They are hiring, but I don't know if it's alot. Last year, the city had quite a bit of financial trouble which they've just recently seemed to pull out from. They're a good agency with a lot of different areas for growth. Like with any other agency, working conditions are dependent upon who you ask. Some will say they love it, others will do nothing but bitch.

My only concern would be the long term stability of the dept given the ups and downs of the city's budget. I don't like the idea of having my pension in jeopardy every time the budget goes into the red.

My info is FLPD get over 1,000 apps from around the US for each position. It is one of the toughest depts in the country to get on with.

is their any big dept. in florida that is easy to get on with if you are certified with over five years on the street??/

Just talked to HR today and set my appointment up for the 19th. Have to use some days off. They said that everything could get done in 3 days.
