Anyone from Tampa?????

I was just informed that TPD has a police scholarship program. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some more info and I am a year from getting out of the Marines, would it be better to wait and apply or apply now.

I lived in Tampa for about a year. I also attended the Tampa Police Academy. All i can say about Tampa is that its crazy busy and very dangerous.

A large majority of our instructors at the academy were Tampa cops. 80 percent of them had **** poor attitudes......by the end of the academy i did not want to work for Tampa PD, which was my main goal when i got there.

I guess thats an outside view of it...you may want to talk to some cops that actually work there though. Good luck.
