Description: MUST BE A RESIDENT OF GALLATIN COUNTY. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States; at least 18 years of age; extensive background investigation and fingerprinting will be performed to disclose any criminal record or convictions; must be of good moral character; must pass a department physical ability and written examination; must complete an oral exam to demonstrate communication skills, temperament, motivation and other characteristics necessary to the accomplishment of the duties and functions of a peace officer; must possess or be eligible for a valid Montana driver's license; pass a psychological test conducted and evaluated by a psychologist; must possess the ability to remain calm in stressful situations; make quick decisions using good judgement, understand and follow verbal and written orders; deal with all types of individuals and personalities. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Possess a high school degree or GED. Applications will be accepted from P.O.S.T certified officers AND eligible applicants who meet the above criteria and are not P.O.S.T certified. No immediate openings.
