They haven't shown up yet, and I can't leave until they do! I own a condo, and because of the township rules, they have to come through once a year and make sure that the smoke detectors are up to code and functioning properly. So, no fireman yet. How are you today?

And as for the amusing story, let's just say that an unexpected shrill siren during a rather critical point of a candlelit intimate evening has the potential to put a bit of a damper on the occasion, unless everyone involved has good senses of humor and self control. Fortunately, both individuals involved had the necessary qualities. And I've never seen a battery yanked out of a smoke detector so quickly. :D

I also use both, it depends what kind of martini I am drinking at the time. When I use gin it is Bombay Saphire and for vodka I prefer Finlandia.

Our township requires the condo development to have the smoke detectors inspected once a year....so they send a fireman and an electrician around to each home. They were supposed to be here by 2 and they never showed up . :mad:
