My wife has suggested we pack up the kids (3 girls, 1 year, 2 year and 4 year old) and head to Disneyland. I told her it might now work with the 1 & 2 year old due to nap times ect. Has anyone taken kids this small or young in age? I heard the best time to go is superbowl sunday due to there being a small crowd at the park. We are looking at June? Am I nuts to agree to this? Any advice would be appreciated..thanks.. :)

ages 1, 2 and 4? Dude, you'd be nuts to take all 3 of em to the zoo for a day, Let alone DisneyLand! Better take on another adult, so it's one kid per adult.
My daughter kept running ahead of us one day at the zoo when she was 2. I was worn out by the end of the day just keeping up with her!

No specific recommendations regarding kids but I can give you some for the trip in general. I'm assuming you'll be staying in a hotel. The best bet is to find one at the front gate of Disneyland (good ones can be had for a decent price if booked far enough ahead) and just walk to the park. This will save you the hassle of driving there, parking, etc. This way you can walk back to the room mid day if you need to, ie take a nap or make sandwiches in the room, etc.

Eating in the park will be quite expensive, but there are several fine restraunts such as Denny's and McDonald's right outside of the park.

Hope that helps some. :)

I took my daughter by myself when she was 7, which is a much better age, but I bought a dog leash and attached it to her jeans and my jeans so she wouldn't run off in all the excitement. Some people looked at me like I was crazy, and others commented on what a good idea it was. I don't care how I looked, I brought her back home with me safely after 5 days. Good luck!

I used to think that those kid leashes were terrible, until I had kids myself. :o

I used to put one on my son when we went fishing, so if he fell in, it'd be easier to grab him.

Ok I never been to Dinseyland but I have been to DinseyWorld in FL a couple of times. I would not reconmend going during June or any summer months. Christmas times is also bad. I would try going In the late fall or spring. They should have a guild that has like calander broken down on average busy times and line waits. I think the shortest line I was 90mins last time we went in may. We always try going around spring break. Your not going to find a great time as in being in really short line. Superbowl sunday I really never thought about that. But going around spring break isnt so bad. Even though its still going be busy. Also they have line express if you stay on a hotel on dinsey you get to enter the parks like 2 hours eariler then the general public and on some rides you get go through the express line witch the wait time is usually half of the normal line.

I forgot but incase you don't know. If your planning a trip to Disney be sure you don't plan it on one of there special days. I don't know if they do it at Disneyland but they do it at DisneyWorld. They have like Gay and Lesbian day. Just be sure you don't plan your trip on those days. If I went on one of those days I probably end up in jail.

I was nice about it; I took her to PetSmart and let her pick out the one she wanted. It was literally a dog leash, not one of the kid harnesses. All I cared about was having fun, and bringing her home safely.

We went to Disneyland the week/weekend before Thanksgiving and we had the place to ourselves. Never stood in line and rode everything 6 times!

I had my youngest kid's on this trip in Fla. and found out at the time that they were too young to go on most rides. They have a hight limit to be able to go on the ride's. You might want to call ahead and ask about the age and or hight limit for the rides or it could turn into one very misarable trip with crying kids that want to go on a ride that they won't be permitted on and put a damper on the whole trip.

I assume you mean Disneyland in Anaheim, Ca. If school is out, it will be packed. It will very possibly be a bit on the warm side. Mid 80's to low 90's is very possible in Anaheim in June. I think your kids are way too young to get any enjoyment out of it. Some of the cool rides have hight requirements that will exclude even the 4 year old. There are now hotels that are part of the park & with a pass you can come & go as you please without parking being an issue. However, as one with kids who has been there dozens of times, I'd pass for now. Go when they are older and on a school day. Just my 2 cents.

They'll be dead tired. Forget the wife and kids take me instead!! ;) I love Disneyland...

Plus, I won't whine that I am tired...lol or hungry or gotta go to the bathroom. :D

But seriously,I think the two little ones might be too young. They won't remember being there. I think you would want to actually remember being there. Yes,photos are great but the actual memory is alot better!!

Unless you can't get a babysitter, it's a lot of wasted money and aggravation to take the kids with you at that age. They won't even remember it. Well, the 4 year old might have a fun time and may remember it, but the other 2 girls will never remember ever being there. My personal suggestion would be to leave the kids with yours/your wife's parents if possible and go enjoy some quality time with your wife. Take the kids to Disney in a few years when they're old enough to appreciate it and remember it.

My wife and I discussed this also. My youngest is two now and we are going to wait until he's five before we make the trek to Orlando. I want to make sure they remember it and be sure they can go on the rides & fully enjoy the trip. It would be bad if the older two could go on rides with one of us but the youngest had to wait and watch with the other parent. Plus at five they are reasonably self-sufficient (we won't need a stroller if they get tired of walking, they can go to the bathroom by themselves vs. diapers, they can walk past a gift shop without grabbing everything within reach or pitching fits, etc)

Plus, by waiting a few more years you have time to comfortably budget so money won't be an issue when you go. Considering the cost of a Disney vacation these days, saving ahead of time is about the only way we could do it.

My wife and I are going to Disney World in 6 days. We are taking our 2 year old with us. We are going to use a chest harness on him to keep him close. Luckily the grandparents will be there to help us out.

We decided to take our daughter to DisneyWorld this year for her 3rd birthday. It will be before she turns 3 and right after a week at the beach with family. She is starting to get pretty good about listening to us and the running around thing. We usually have the stroller or a shopping cart to help her remember that she will go for a ride if she does not obey rules. It is taking time, some running and hearing some complaining in 2 year old language...but she is staring to get it. We wil take the stroller mostly to hold our stuff and lastly to let her rest in when she gets tired...and she will.

We went to DisneyWorld in 98 ....we had only been married for a year.....no daughter. It was tiring, but loads of fun. I am a big kid at heart and just loved seeing all the things I adored as a child....took a picture with goofy and all the Legos.....I know my daughter will just go nuts.....cant wait!

TIP...wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen and drink tons of water...wear a hat too.

Gay and Lesbian day...come on......really? What do they do?

We unwittingly went to Disneyland last Fall during a "gay day". I can only speculate on what they actually do, but the park was filled with gays and lesbians parading around all wearing the same colored shirts. Thousands of 'em. Can't say it had any real effect on my family's day but I could have gone without...

As for bringing kids that young in June I think it's a little crazy, personally. I took my kids when they were 5 and 7. The families I saw with really young ones didn't seem to be enjoying it much. The kids were either crying or passed out and the parents seemed ready to do likewise.

My sister and I took my 4 year old nephew. He was too small for most of the rides but he didn't care. He was there for one reason and that was to see Mickey Mouse. He got to meet Mickey, got a hug and a kiss and was one happy little boy. It was worth it. :)

go during the weekday, better than weekends...

small kids, go to California Adventures, the new addition to Disneyland.. more for small kids there... and/or stay in Toon town.

I lugged the kids, about the same ages (at that time), no biggie.

have fun.

I live in the area and still waited until my daughter was 5. Your two two youngest will not enjoy it. heck they may even be terrified by the 6' tall rat. We have annual passes now that she is 8.

I would wait 3 years (it will still be there trust me) save up money and do it big. Go for at least 3 days (during the week and take kids out of school unless they are on a year round schedule. AVoid January and Febuary. they are low use times but many rides are closed for reconditioning after X-mas, Haunted mansion being the best example. Ride every ride and if you can really save $$ stay at the Grand Californian, super expensive but a truly great hotel. If you cant afford it then at least ckeck out its lobby.

I agree save up your money and stay at the Grand Californian.

The lobby was amazing when my bf took me to Disneyland. The last time I was in Disneyland was when I was 7 yrs old.

I had so much fun with him, I didn't want to leave.

I can't wait to go again.

That place I won't mind being a cop at.

I appreciate all your advice. We will wait a few years for the trip. Maybe a nice trip to the San Diego Zoo and beach will be fun. Thanks again.... :)

Now that is an excellent idea- I hear the San Diego Zoo is one of the best in the world. Too bad I'm a million miles away.

I had season passes last year to Disney becuase I live in Orlando and want to enjoy it.

My suggestion is take the kids early, go back to the hotel and take a nap and takem em out again or let em play in the pool or something because I saw a whole lot of unhappy parents carting around crying kids at 1500 in the hot sun.

Check the blackout dates on the differnet passes. If a certain week or time is blacked out for say the Florida Residents Passes you DON'T want to go then. It will be busy and you wil be waiting in long lines.

Get fastpasses as often as you can.

I don't have kids myself so I can't help you there.

If you are coming to Orlando and are staying off disney property and in the Orlando City limits send me a PM and I'll tell you if you hotel is $#@&-hole or decent.

Any Orange County Deputys that work Sector 5 have any advice?
