Why are you asking? Trying to get a group together like the high school boys in Boston? :D :D

(See post on statutory rape..) Sorry - your post was perfect timing! :D

Well, with around 300 million people in the States, I figure a few will be interested. Not a big market there though (compared to baseball, basketball, football)

Have a center right here, sometimes forward though.

I have played both but I am playing ICE Hockey with the japanese right now in tokyo (not pro or even close just an adult league) and it is not as big over here as the states but a lot of people play.

I don't play hockey but I'm a huge fan. I'm up for going to a game any time, any place. It must be a northern thing. :D

Hockey....what's that? :p

I'm a hardcore fan, and I loooooove hockey chicks. But not the fat ones. Only the hot ones.

Cat, you'll have to follow your team to KC and we can hang out!
I work at Kemper Arena part time as security, but don't really get to watch too many of the games. I'm in the house, but outside of the ring. no fair!

Not a player, but a big fan of the sport. I will get into rollerblade hockey once my boy is old enough to skate, as well as get him into peewee leagues if he shows the desire. He's only two now so I have to wait a while longer. My daughters (5 and 3 y/o) haven't shown any interest in playing hockey so far but I'm working on them too :)

I've played Hockey for 30 years, but had to quit last year as ice time got too expensive and my shift work makes me miss over half of the games. My boys (ages 5 and 8) play and I help coach their teams which makes up for it a bit. I get to play in an occassional road hockey or benefit game and that's it. :(

I'd love to play hockey, but I don't know how to ice skate.
Not much ice skating in the small town I grew up in.
We have some places now, but at 31, not sure I'm gonna be learning any time soon. Went one time and fell down way too many times.

it's never too late to learn how to skate...just stay away from figure skates...

that's basically how i got into it...played street hockey on the snow-packed streets btween periods during the 80 winter olympics...got skates...skated at zeckendorf plaza in downtown denver...my high school didn't have a hockey team so a bunch of guys on the lacrosse team took it up for off-season conditioning...now i play hockey and not lacrosse...go figure!

Hockey is the only sport worth playing! only ice. Roller is or people who cant ice skate, dont like the cold, or cant afford ice.
I worked at an ice rink before i came on the CHP. Driving the Zamboni helped me with my skid pan course at the academy. I was playing ice 5-6 times a week, coaching and instructing. now i'm lucky to play once in a while...
I played in the police international games in 2003. sadly the team i played for sucked. I am looking into putting a CHP team together for 2006 or 2007.
anyways, you mention ice hockey, i get so excited i cant stop talking...

We played roller hockey in the summer. No ice in the summer :D Now that I think about it, I have never ice skated at a rink. I hated field hockey. Boring! That and I got high sticked in the throat in gym one day. Had to go to the hospital. That sucked.

YES!
I used to play (rw from N. Minn) but had to quit from injuries from hockey. Now I am just a fan and collect game worn NHL jerseys. Hence the war leafs, and have a hockey tattoo.
any cop should check "doug the thug smith" he is a cop and was a goon in hockey and has a book out. Great book too!!!!!

I played hockey until I joined BLET, the fear of screwing up my knee kept me from playing. I miss hitting, boarding and checking someone!

Great stress release! to :)

Do alot of LEOs play despite of getting injured? Twist a knee and you cant chase after someone.

I figured that's why we have motorola and the glock 22....no seriously, i've been fighting an mcl problem since october and started using a product called Traumeel...i don't what's in it, but it has helped more than any physical therapist has!!

dayam straight....ICE RULES! I laugh my *** off at these roller guys covered with rink rash! too bad we only have one sheet and it's seasonal...trying to get parks and rec to wake up and put a year-round sheet in....don't suppose we can count on the NHLPA for assistance on this one!

I just actually had knee surgery 2 weeks ago. how do i get this stuff you speak of. Surgery was a last resort for me after physcal ther. and cortizone shots. I NEED to get back to working the road and playing hockey ofcourse.

as for saesonal ice. It doesn snow where i live, it never gets even close to cold enough. so all ice around here is indoors and year round. i have a double rink 3 miles from me.

whats really comical is to see a roller player come and try to play ice, with their roller pants and such. then when you get a little physical, they start to cry "you cant do that...boo hoo hoo..."

Traumeel can be obtained at any health food store....now don't get me wrong...I'm not one of THOSE but this stuff works!! Maybe it's phsychosomatic....dunno all I know my knee is almost 100 percent.

Rolller freaks! I showed up in full ice gear last fall..they looked at me like i was from mars....sat for six minutes (two roughing and one charging)...told me i was too aggressive hardy fuggin har..that explains the four goals and three assists i had...haven't played since... and none of these guys play ice..go figure...they can have it!

last time i played roller (because someone begged me to) some loser tried to "stand me up" as i was making a break down the rink with the puck. He figured i would try at all costs to avoid him, like all roller players would do... NOPE... I dropped the shoulder, flattened him and kept on truckin'. he started whining, but the refs didnt call it. they said it was his own fault. I havent played roller since. too soft for me.

The refs didn't call what? There's no penalty to call or not call for skating through checks with the puck.

in roller hockey, there is no checking... seems like a pretty weak sport. That is why they were whining, the other team thought the refs should have thrown me in the box for it.

My department used to have a hockey team which I played on for two years (97-98). We would practice on duty two hours twice a week. We would also travel to Canada/New York to play in police hockey tournements. The best part is that we were on duty while playing and if injured while playing or practicing, it was considered an on duty injury. Since then, all department teams have been disbanded. We also had a department softball team and a department tug of war team.

I play. Haven't gotten to play this season since the group I used to skate with slowly dwindled away. I play forward. Used to be a goalie but the equipment's $$$$ on my salary.

Once I make it through the academy (hopefully soon), through break-in, and establish some kind of normalcy in my life.......let me know if you still want to get a CHP hockey team going! I love hockey, and you'll have a goallie.....well, a lacrosse goalie, but I can hang on ice too!
