Not a die hard, but like the show none the less. Im not able to watch it regularly, so I would like to get it on DVD. I AM a Rescue Me fanatic. I love that show. Theres just something about it, probably because Dennis Leary is freaking funny. Anyway, same thing, I want Rescue Me on DVD so I can watch it at my leisure. Right now im going through 24 on DVD, starting with season one.

Even though Shield often portrays the job in a negative light, I do think it's well acted and produced. I have watched it since episode one.

I enjoy the show quite a bit. Acting in it is superb, and a very good plot.

I guess I am one of the biggest fans of the show. I have VHS recorded every show since it came out. I also like Rescue Me, House and of course twenty four (24).

I've followed the shield since it's premire. I have the first 2 seasons on dvd and one of my fellow officers was telling me he thought that the 3rd season was going to be released today (02/23). I can't wait.
I also like Rescue me. I thought the first episode was dry, but it picked up soon after that. But honestly, could one dude's life be that screwed up!?! It sure is entertaining though, and hot chicks galore :D

I love the shield!!! And have only seen Rescue me a couple of times, but liked it. I never got into 24 though, it was too damn slow. I didn't have the patience for it. What do 24 fans love about it so much? Maybe I'm missing something and don't even know it? ;)

I found it hard to conceive that all the events took place within 24 hrs. That's why I never really got into it.

Like stated before... Although Vic Mackey is not the type of cop I try to be... the show kicks ***. March 15th can't get here soon enough.

I like the Shield because Mackie reminds me of me, minus being a dirty cop. I still believe in old school "interview" techniques, and I still like the "hands on" approach rather than electrocuting someone with a taser. Hell, I trained to fight for years, so why take the fun out of it with a glorified cow prod. I would never take any money on the job, but I'd certainly flatten some scumbag's nose when needed. Enough said.

Usually I hate shows or movies about dirty cops. I couldn't stand Training Day. However, for some reason I just can't stop watching The Shield and have followed it religiously since its premiere. I think it's sort of like you're just waiting to see if they get away with it by the skin of their teeth, yet again or they finally get busted. I don't think it would be much of a show if they got caught. Lemonhead's my favorite. Hopefully I'll have cable again by March 15.

Big fan and looking forward to the new season. It does sometimes portray the job in a bad light but it is just a tv show.

I watched the first session of the show. It seemed every new show it just got more crazier and crazier with what Mackie did I got away with. It does have some good acting in it though, and the set up and effects are good as well. I just cannot get into it.
The Shield is a great cop show. Cant wait for it to come back on in March. Vic's not really bad..he just knows how to control things. Ok maybe he is bad...but hey its LA.

I didnt watch the 1st season just cause I didnt want to watch a show portray us in a majorly negative light. Then guys at work started talking about each episode and I got hooked. I am hooked. I also like Rescue Me and have never watched an episode of 24.
The best was Homicide-Life on the Streets....
Also episode of NYPD blue is this tuesday the 29th No More Blue :(

just bought season 3 of the shield,
looks like everyone is wearing gold shields now on the wrong side of the
shirt. some of the storey lines...are a bit " adult" oriented and hopefully
police officer's will monitor their kid's viewing it.
never seen a city..on a day to day basis....they have issues over their
in los angeles or what ever fictional city it's suppose to be.
however, the language, street cop vs management, vs " defective" unit"
is good, human diversity " gay " black " hispanic " cop's and storey
lines , along with making " arrest's" go away, play into the realism.
ft lauderdale was a lot like some of the storey line until they did some
urban re-newal.

I am proud to say I own all three seasons of The Shield and I watch it constantly. I think the way its shot and the acting is quite good. Not so much into the dirty cop thing though.
As for Rescue Me thats the greatest show out there I think. Leary really brings the show alive.
So who where thinks that the Armenian Mob is going to catch up with the Strike Team? Rumor has it that one of the team members will die  :(

greatest line from Rescue Me was when the guy burns his house and kills his wife for nagging on him cut to the scene as the cops are leading him out of the building "no more nagging, no more nagging" over and over. Priceless!!!!!!

I think it was a good episode but it seemed they had too many stories going on at once. It is the first of the new season but alittle complicated. It was real funny when Danny and her partner are waiting the Detcetives at the shooting and ask one more time for an ETA and dispatch says you shoulda come back tothe station hours ago, we need your car...

I thought the season 4, kick off episode was well acted. If you take away all the BS about the LE part and just watch CCH Pounder and Glen Close together, you really get a sense of conflict, they acted their buts off.
Michael Chiklis did an okay job. I did like the scene when he and Walt Goggins (Shane) came face to face in the house, that had some intensity to it.
You have to remove yourself from reality and watch it for entertainment value, I have high hopes for Glen Close this season.

I thought the bit with the dog was hillarious!!! I also thought there were too many holes, that wernt talked about in season 3... ie; why the DA is ****ed at Claudett abd Dutch, the strike team no more...
All in all, Im still excited the see the show again...

DA is ****ed at Claudett b/c she investigated a murdered Public Defender's drug problem, which caused a lot of closed cases to get retried. So the DA's office is up sh*t creek re-trying all the cases. Dutch is in the dog house just b/c he works with Claudett even though he is trying to create distance between him and her.
The Strike Team is no more b/c the brass will not replace any members that left (everyone but vic and the beard guy left). Evidently the Strike Team must have a least four members. Only got two guys now...bye bye strike team.
All this happened in the last episode of last season.

It will be interesting how they play all 4 members of the 'strike team' this yr. They are all on the opening credits and Shane was in the last scene with Vic and his partner, bearded guy. It appears that Lem and Shane went to diff. bureaus and will be making visits often. Probably they will get the team back together soon. Thats my vision. If only I played the lottery
