I grew up in the area of Kingshighway and Wabada. Attended Beaumont HS. :)

I see you like golf. I played a few rounds at Glen Echo when I would return for a visit.

Ive played there (G.E.) once and youre right its very nice. If Im not mistaken, I think that its the oldest course west of the Mississippi.

I'm very fortunate. I work security sometimes at Norwood Hills Country Club. On mondays, the club is closed to members for tournaments. So either before or after tournaments, they hook us up with a cart and let us play for free.

That is a beautiful course up there.

I'm from Missouri. Born and raised in Clayton/Saint Louis, going to school at SLU so I can get a criminal justice minor and (hopefully) work for St. Louis County, Clayton, or Ladue (boo) after I get out.

Hey everybody! I'm in st. louis county, live in the second precinct. I am an explorer badly in need of a bulletproof vest. I currently do ride-alongs with several departments, and have been in some pretty scary situations. At this point, I don't feel very comfortable going out without a vest; however, none of the departments that I ride with offer one while on ride-alongs. Due to my virtually non-existent financial resources, I cannot afford much. Does anyone know where I can find a cheap vest that I can trust? I would appreciate your suggestions. Thank's!

I wish I would have known a week ago, I just threw one away, however I dont know if I would have trusted it, it was about 10 years old. As an explorer, if you need a vest you can "trust" I would re-think about getting out of the car.

stlcexp-- try bulletproofme.com They sell surplus and used vests (and new ones). As far as I know, the used and surplus vests are still within their original wear life or have been recertified. They also appear to have a decent return policy, so you could have an experienced officer look at whatever vest (and documentation) you get (be sure you do this). I got one from them for ride-alongs while I was in the academy and was very pleased. Their customer service was great. Or see if your Explorer Post can write some grant requests to get a few vests (maybe you could volunteer to do this so you could learn how).

Hey, 40cal, how hard was it to transfer your MO POST to MN? The email I got from MN Post wasn't very helpful.

thank's guys, you've been a great help. as for the above quote, there have been times when I have been out of the car when shootings have taken place. plus I ride in some pretty rough areas, so i definetely need a vest. I would almost rather be out in these situations though, rather than be a sitting duck in the car though! Those impalas just don't offer much cover.
