I know most of you in here are Republican but come on, you must admit, if Clinton would have been caught in lies like these, they would have sent old Clarence Thomas to the White House and personally threw the book at Clinton. Every time I try to like Bush some how there is another lie exposed.
Now, in order for an individual to become the police, he should not have tried any hard drugs like cocaine. They give the potential police candidate a lie detector test to prove what they says is true or make sure they didn

I am sure you have heard but here is a taste of the hypocrisy of Bush:
In a segment of the tapes made available to CNN by ABC News, the president appears to admit to trying marijuana.
Bush says he "wouldn't answer the marijuana question ... 'cause I don't want some little kid doing what I tried."
"But you gotta understand, I want to be president, I want to lead. I want to set -- Do you want your little kid to say, 'Hey daddy, President Bush tried marijuana, I think I will?' " he said.
In a segment of the tapes played on ABC's "Good Morning America," Bush says the same holds true for questions about cocaine use, which have dogged him since the 2000 election.
I am no big fan of Bush by any means (see Iraq) but I have absolutely NO problem with the above statements. I think he uses some good old fashioned common sense with that point of view. I fully endorse his hypocrisy in a case like this- good for him.

I'm sorry... wasnt there something floating around about Clinton 'not inhaling' marijuana as well??
Come on now...
How about finding something worth while if you're going to bash Bush.
Everybody did something in their past... I would prefer a little marijuana use over a lot worse things.

And The Point To This Political Rant Is ??????

Bodie,
I'd like to read dog's rant on Marion Barry, the crack-smoking, prostitute-chasing mayor of D.C. The sad fact is that when that dirtbag got out of prison the good people of D.C. put the doper back in office!
And of course who can forget that Gennifer Flowers said that Bill Clinton had a terrible cocaine habit! Apparently he was scoring from his bro', who did time for possession. Fortunately for the doper bro', Bill pardoned him.
Take care,

Everyone is entitled to their opinion politically but lets keep the unnessary bashing out of it. There is nothing wrong with any of his replies in these tapes which you should understand were taped without his knowledge or permission and it was supposed to be a private conversation taken place in a private area. I have been fortunate enough to meet the elder President Bush when he was Vice-President and he was very generous and thoughtful to all the cops. He even asked to have a private word with the Motor Officers escorting him and told us personally that we were as good or better than the DC motors that escort him all the time. That was not necessary or expected and raised my opinion of him quite a bit right there. I later after retirement and after moving to Fl was invited to dine with Mrs Barbara Bush when he was President and she was wonderful, funny, down to earth, and a pleasure to speak with. Later on after JEB became Governor of Florida I has a chance to do the "chicken circuit" with him and then Lt Gov Brogan and both he and Brogan were really great to speak with and not aloof at all but quite open and friendly. His son that everyone raves about now was also there and we chatted quite often when his Dad was being swamped with fans as his son was not really that well known at the time. Seems to me that the Bush family are truly great people who want nothing more than to serve and better the United States. Maybe it is Barbara's influence or even George Sr. but whoever it is, they were all very humble and 'real' people. I would love to meet W and his lovely wife Laura. She is a credit to the nation. Could you possibly imagine Theresa or however you sp[ell the witch's name being the first Lady!! Thank goodness she isn't!
im certainly no fan of bush but lets keep things in perspective. weed aint a big deal. i dont have much of a problem if he tried coke either. if he did in fact lie about his drug use, thats no way near as bad as him lying about other things during his administration. i have more of a problem with his arrest history than his drug history.

Brickcop, you gotta be kidding me. You seem to be one of the more levelheaded individuals in here. What common sense did he use, but lie. All he was doing was convincing himself to tell a lie. They were nothing but well thought out lies. He wanted a job so he lied to get it. Bush doesn

Retired, you have to admit the Democratic party is in trouble. I see them pushing Barak Obama to the forefront in 2008, he's really all they have (maybe a VP candidate or Pres.?) what do you think?

What is wrong with Obama? Besides being a little inexperienced and we really have no idea where he really stands...
I voted for him this past november... He seems like just what we need... somebody fresh and not caught up in the bull****.

Regardless of political affilitation I think we can all admit that politicians lie or 'exaggerate'. But am I the only one that remembers Clinton's little discretions. Somebody pointed out the I smoked marijuana but never inhaled issue. Who really believes that! And there is always the Monica situation, "I never had sexual relations with that woman." Please, like that's even close to the truth...and if I remember right lying under oath is called perjury??? If any average person were to lie like that under oath we'd be screwed so you can't really say that if Clinton would have been caught in lies they would have threw the book at him...because they did try him and he came out alright. No politician has a clean slate just like most police officers don't have a clean slate so forgive and forget or just forget.

yeah but it's the same group that wouldn't let the Clinton Pot thing die that wants to forgive and forget Bush's cocaine habit.
i'm also of the persuasion that we all do stupid things as kids (or young adults) and often times they can lend valuable perspective to our lives as adults. it's hard to give wise counsul to a kid when you know nothing about what they are going thru. i'd perfer to have a spotless childhood over added perspective but it's too late now. the best i can do is help another young guy avoid the mistakes i made. i've long since given up the expectation that politicians have it all together.

Well if you want to start throwing dirt. Heres a tidbit for you about your hero, Slick Willie.
Executive orders:
10995: Seizure of all communications media in the United States.
10997: Seizure of all electric power fuels and minerals, public and private.
10999: Seizure of all means of transportation, including personal cars, trucks or vehicles of any kind and total control of highways, seaports and waterways.
11000: Seizure of all American people for work forces under federal supervision including the splitting of families if the government finds it necessary.
11001: Seizure of all health, education and welfare facilities, public and private.
11002: Empowered the postmaster general to register all men, women and children in the U.S.
11003: Seizure of all airports and aircraft.
11004: Seizure of all housing and finance authorities to establish Forced Relocation Designated areas to be abandoned as "unsafe".
11005: Seizure of all railroads, inland waterways and storage facilities, public and private.
12919: Signs June 3, 1994, by President Clinton. Encompasses all the above executive orders.
In addition to that, why dont you mention Clintons little policies in Somalia and Bosnia? Or is that just inconvienent to include in your rant?
None of the above executive orders were signed by Clinton except 12919, and that EO made no reference to the other EO's. Where did you find the info that 12919 encompasses all of the other EO's?
I am not a supporter of any EO's signed by Presidents because in my opinion all they do is bestow more power on the executive branch of government, offering more opportunity for abuse.

link to material http://www.warroom.com/exec_orders.htm
link to above EOs http://www.disastercenter.com/laworder/12919.htm
that link also includes all of JFKs EOs 10995-11004 and 12919 was to update them (Defense Production Act of 1950) from what I understand, although my grasp of legalese isnt the best. Check section 103 under general functions, which is the meat and potatos of the EO.
check the bottom of that webpage for more references too.
Yes, retired I agree completely. The above EOs effectively take total control of everything in the US. Essentially turning the presidency into a dictatorship.

Oh you do put your life on the line. Well I would expect someone who did to be a bit more smart up stairs and have a better understanding of things happening over there. I'm not saying you have to agree with it or not. But your remark about Not Support the Troops really flames me. We are there so support the troops rather or not if you support the war. They are there on orders.
Since you claim to be a LEO you should know that every situation is very different. Do you always rush the SWAT team in on a barracked suspect?
I don't want the world running our country. I want our goverment running our country. I geuss your one of those cops if you are one. That lets kids go because you believe them that they have no idea how that rock got in his pocket and it belongs to his friend that he barrowed the jacket from.
I bet you do more for this country when I have if you included your liberal protest on captail hill. I should of know your just a Rent-A-Cop for some school campus.
What more proof you want that terrorist are going to attack the US? You want another catastrophic event to happen since Saddam support terrorist againest the US? I rather the fight to them then have them attack us again. At least we know Iraq doesn't have weapons. Wars have been fought over alot more less things then just National Security.
Now I know what your handicap is, your BRAIN!
