Prior to renting this movie, I heard that I will either love it or hate it. I watched it. I guess I am in a 3rd category. I just didn't get it. I liked a couple of characters, (Kip and Pedro) but mostly I just did not get the joke. There were a couple of funny lines like, "I caught you a delicious bass." I didn't hate the movie, but I didn't think it was fabulous either.

What did everyone else think?

I thought it was hilarious, and that it got better after watching it 2 or 3 times. But it definitely was my type of humor. You'll either get it or you won't.

I've also heard that this was based on a real person, too.

Some of my favorite quotes:

"So what did you do again this summer, Napoleon?"
"I was in Alaska hunting wolverines with my uncle!"
"Did you shoot any?"
"Yes! They kept trying to attack my cousins, what the heck would you do in a situation like that?"
"What kind of gun did you use?"
"A freakin' twelve gauge, what do you think!?!"

"Do the chickens have large talons?"

"Do you think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearin' these bad boys? Forgettaboutit!"

"Sorry I'm late, I just got done taming you a wild honeymoon stallion."

Maybe I watched while i was in the wrong mood.

I found myself wondering where the movie was going and where the funny parts were???

I love dumb movies but I found this one hard to enjoy.

Maybe I should watch it again.

I picked up the box in Blockbuster, looked at it for a second and then put it back and rented "Gallipoli" instead. Looked way too stupid for my taste.

Funny movie but where's the plot for it? Definately a movie that is of the stupid funny genre.

The funniest thing about the movie is that "THERE IS NO PLOT" I love the movie...I dont have to think when I watch it. My brother, his wife and their 16 year old son watched it with us (Christmas present from me to hubby) while we were visiting them over the holidays. My brother and his wife just didnt get it...I tolde them to forget they were 40something, stop looking for a plot and enjoy. They finally just laughed because they thought it was so stupid. My husband and I won more brownie points with our nephew because he still thinks we are cool old people who like some of the stuff he does. Whatever.

My husband had a meeting with his boss the other day and seemed pretty annoyed by it...so I asked him if he discussed all of his "skills" with him.....made him laugh.

We like Dumb and Dumber, too.

Very funny movie, I think partly because I've known many people like those in the movie.

I watched it as a favor to my wife. We both thought it was pretty dumb, but we laughed all the way through it.

I had a passing thought that it might be funniest in a small group if you're all wasted.

GOSH! I just read an article in the Sunday edition of the Austin Daily Rag about Napoleon Dynamite.

It was written under the Morman moral code, that is why there is no cussing, nudity, or drug usage...just Tator tot eating, building cakes, cage fighting, and surfing the net for babes.......INTERESTING..........

Dumb and Dumber is hilarious...

I have not seen Napoleon Dynamite and I am not sure whether I want to now with everyone saying it is not so good. I will just wait til it comes to Direct Tv here.

It's a completely character-driven movie, which is why some will love it while others will hate it. There's no action or obvious plot; just the events in the lives of a few people.

Instant classic.

I simply loved the movie, but I can see that its certainly an acquired taste. "What are trying to do, make me look like a friggin idiot? Jeez!" LOL
