I've attempted to contact the Cherokee County Police Department and the Cobb County Police Department in Georgia. I had some luck with Cobb but none at all with Cherokee. They don't answer the phone anytime that I've called. I guess now would be a good time to get to my question.
Would a police officer be willing to listen and answer some questions via phone from someone interested in becoming a LEO or does it just depend on the officer?
Since I'm already on the Job Search area of the forums, I'll ask this:
Will an MVR with a few infractions -[listed below]- cause me to be expempt from being a police officer? I obtained all of these infractions within a year because I was a new driver at the time. Since I've gotten my license back I haven't had any infractions and by the time I'm 21 it will have been 5 years since my last ticket.
INFRACTIONS: speeding ticket with result of license suspension for 6 months, 2nd speeding ticket (very minor over speed limit), 3rd speeding ticket (very minor over speed limit), and a failure to yield ticket with result in minor car accident
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. It is appreciated.
