Anyone getting into the POKER craze that's going on. I hit Atlantic City several times a year. My favorite Poker room is at the Taj.

I've been getting into Texas Holdem. I've been playing online (no money games) at truepoker.com. It's fun but better playing with the guys.

I've become addicted to No Limit Texas Hold 'em over the past two years. We have neighborhood $50 buy in games about once a month.

I also play for "play money" at PartyPoker.Com. It's a lot of fun and and it doesn't cost anything if you "drown on the river". :D

I was always a blackjack man, but I have taken a liking to Texas Holdem. I usually play on PokerStars.com.

I love it, cards in generally really. Anyone have much luck with the local neighborhood buy in tournaments? They have a few set up in my area Ive been meaning to try but never get the time off. I play on pokerroom.com or pokerstars.com but too many people play the river on line...

skwashie,

Try www.Partypoker.net

Click on Tournaments. There are a few "First Hand All In" yahoos on occasion but they surface within 3 hands and once their broke they're off the table. After that the play is usually true to the game even if it is not real $$$.

I have a great $50 buy in neighborhood game. 2nd plce gets his money back- winner takes the rest. If you are looking for a home game in your area try Google "Poker House games (your state)". I know there were over 50 listed in MA.

Neighbor guy taught me Texas Hold'Em and a few of the "original" games, but hasn't invited me back after the third night, because I kicked his *****!! What a great game, I haven't tried the on-line ones yet because I don't think I am THAT good - is there a place for 'rookies" to try it on-line, without screwing up the good players?

Photo,

It's just like regular poker- your 5 best cards. Each player get two hole cards and there's 5 community cards. There are a lot of nuances in Texas Hold em though. You play the "players" as much as the strength of your hand. Watch one of the shows on TV you'll catch on to the basics of it.

Like the saying goes it takes seconds to learn, years to master.

I love hold 'em... anyone play 7 card stud or omaha? we play those on ocassion, I absolutely suck at omaha for some reason, I suppose 4 cards are too much for me to concentrate on, stud is pretty damn fun though and Im not toooo shabby. The hold em craze is hilarious, a year ago if you said you played poker now and then people would think you have a habbit not its a hobby :D oh well, i like it you can almost always catch WPT on tv during those crappy day time hours.
