Anyone here know how long it takes to hear back from them once you apply? Anyone gone through the process yet??

Have you looked into VT State Police? There process moves VERY quick and they will be hiring another large group for the summer academy. They are a lot busier than ME SP

Some guys get on pretty quick, with others it takes a couple of times. I think that they have just closed there current hiring because a guy I know got hired just a week or so ago, it is a big help now to already have the combined basic class behind you. Then when you get hire you have to go through another 7 week trooper school. This is on top of the currrent basic school.(720 hours)

I guess the answer to your question is it depends on when you get on the list.

I have also heard that it is good to have already passed the academys PT test before applying. It would also be a good idea to go get to knwo some of the guys/gals by doing ride alongs with them.

I saw that your in the Bangor area, there are alot of good troopers who would be willing to let you ride along with them. just call the troop. in Orono

I am not a trooper, but know a few I also work for a state LE agency and it took me a year to get through the process so keep your head up.
