Hi all,

I was told about this site, currently I'm waiting for the results back from my psych eval interview which is the last step before I go forward with the reserve academy for a large county sheriff's department here in Oregon. Looking forward to bouncing questions off you full timers and would always appreciate any advice or suggestions you have.

Just to update this intro, I got word earlier this week that I passed the psych eval and am officially in the January academy.

Hang onto your psych evaluation - if you DO get on full-time somewhere, years from now you may look at it and wonder if the doctors REALLY knew their stuff or not!:D

Peter is right you got to be a little crazy to get on this job. It seems like ages since I went through the academy. What brings back the memories is I started in Janurary also. Just jump right in and start asking questions. :)

Good luck with the academy. Keep your mouth shut and your ears open, and make sure you pay attention to and practice the officer safety techniques. They could save your life.
