Just hired on in TN

I am a soon to be officer in TN. Needless to say, I am very excited about getting everything started. As I'm sure you all know, the process can be quite torturous!

During the hiring process, I have greatly enjoyed reading what each of you have said. I would greatly appreciate all advice that any of you may have. Thanks!!

A little advice:

The first year is the hardest and the time when most will new Officers quit,:eek:

Hang in there tough it out, the second year will still be hard but much easier.

Hey after thirty years, you'll love and enjoy the job more than you do your wife or husband:p

Congratulations. Just keep up on your officer safety and wear your vest. And remember, there is no "routine" patrol or "safe" traffic stop. Stay alert. Now, go get 'em, and good luck.

Thanks for the advice!! I've got 14 weeks of training with an FTO and then 10 weeks at the academy ahead of me, so I can't wait!!!

GoForth...I'll be in the Cookeville area. I live in Murfreesboro now though and so I am pretty close to all of the places you have mentioned.
