I've been doing a lot of searching on this forum about polygraph results to get a feel for what happened to me during mine. I think I've had the strangest encounter so far.
The background packet/questionarre was 1 page front and back. I was there less than an hour and asked the questions three times, but not always worded the same.
He asked the questions two times in a row and when he was done he asked me, "What is going through your mind when I ask you about the drug questions?" (I have done MJ (times uknown) and Ecstasy twice). I told him that the fact I had done them was going through my mind. He earlier had guestimated my uses to about 65 times in my life and I had told him then it could be around there, but I never kept count.
After I told him what was going through my mind, he asked me, "Could it have been more than 65 times?" I told him yes, I never kept count. He asked, "More than 100?" I told him no, not more than 100. "So between 65-100?" I said AGAIN I didn't keep count. He then asked, "And you have never done any other drugs?" I told him no. He asked, "And you've never sold anything?" I told him no, just gave like a dime bag away back in 2000 to a friend. (BI Investigator already knows this)
He ran through the questions one more time, stopped the machine, got up and said, "Thanks." Started to remove the leads, tubes, etc from me and asked how I had done on a previous poly. I told him I had been, "ineligible to continue with teh process due to information contained in my polygraph report." (That dept didn't know about my drug use so I think this is what that meant). He then shook my hand, said "Good luck" and shooed me out the door.
Does this sound normal?? Was this just a tactic to get me to confess more? From what I've read, he barely did enough to determine whether or not I was lying or being truthful. Any input would help guys! Thanks.
