Okay another crazy question probably. But Im going to have to take some recruitment physical ability tests soon. Im curious about the 50-pound force door. Is it that difficult? How can I practice that? That may sound dumb that Im asking but I weigh 106, this isn't exactly a small amount of weight for me. Thanks in advance!
What exactly does a "50 pound force door entail?" (I can guess but want to know for sure). What is the exact setup for the test? Does the department/academy have a walk-through of the test that you can attend (they will demonstrate, give training tips etc.) - or do they have a website that includes information about the test? Please provide more details (no guarentees that we can offer suggestions - but maybe if we had a better idea exactly what is involved.....)

I'm sorry, Ive read about this door on so many websites I guess I just thought it was something used in almost all departments. Ive never seen one so I can't say but the packet of info says "open a door with 50 pounds of resistance" and later says that you must "negotiate a 50 pound body force door." Id like to think that 50 pounds of pressure isn't really that bad but I just have no idea how to find out or prepare for it. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to think about it for me.

Did you ever think of calling the dept and asking exactly how it's done?...pushing, pulling, etc, and then working out to gain strength in those areas you need it.....
