Hello all.
Over the next few months I plan on running this thread and keeping all those interested in becoming a police officer up to date and hopefully providing some motivation ( hell if he can do it so can I ) . So here goes. And yes I have a dry sense of humor.

I have 4 yrs of Corrections in my background and was a 2nd shift FTO.
For the last 5 yrs i have been in sales.
It is in the blood so I moved to VA and decided to try and return to LE only this time not in a jail.

So I looked at my shape...Damn I am out of shape. 17:30 mile and half....perhapes I should quit smoking ( yeah right) So off to Gold gym to get a membership...Done. I start on Friday at 10am pain here I come.

Meanwhile back at the application. Doh I need to be a US citizen....mmmmmm. Well I researched the state statutes and found that i can get it waived...Not to all reading state statutes is very boring...great to help ya sleep.

So my app is in the dept and now i have to wait for the dept to decide if they will sign the waiver form, if they do then it is off to a different agency in VA to have it approved.

Mmmmmm so before I can even apply I have a big task ahead, so take heart all of you, it is hard work to get what you want.

So meanwhile while I wait for that waiver I figure that I should start getting back into shape. As noted my 1.5 mile time is sad but not bad for a smoker. I walk 100m then run 100 and repeat, 85 deg heat was a big help lol. My phy test is going to be in late Oct to I hope to get my 1.5 mile time down to at least 13-14 mins.

We will not go into my sit ups and push ups yet...I can take only so much bashing. But that post will come in time.

Well all time to take the dog and girl friend out for a walk.

Ed the Brit.

This is a factual account of my hiring process because God willing by Feb I will be starting the academy.

Please feel free to post comments and questions,my replies will be honest and perhapes joking. PS where is that damn spell checker

Hey, at least you know you can only get better..lol, good luck to you

"It is in the blood so I moved to VA and decided to try and return to LE only this time not in a jail".

So how did you just up and move to VA and how did you obtain a green card?

LOL I went to college over here and ended up getting married and obtained my green card after i was married. I stayed and worked in both NH and VT then decided to up and move to Va. I got divorceed in VT ( reason are personal, and NO it was not a sham marriage)

Anyway more news on the job and fitness front.

I have decided after much thinking to obtain my US citizenship, it will make a career in LE much easier ( lol ) So I informed the department's Chief of Police and will be allowed to go through the testing process but will not be able to go to the academy until I become a citizen. Should be in the Fall 05 class. Meanwhile I will return to working in a jail, hopefully I will hear if I am hired by next week, had a great interview yesterday.

Fitness, joined Gold gym and got 3 free trainings. Today was the 1st one and man my legs are killing me...lol. Awesome sadistic trainer God love him. Told him my goals and will achieve them in time for the fitness test. With some hard work.

Yes I also know little old ladies who can out run me even with a walker. Think how I feel in my hay day my best 1.5 mile time was 10:27. I was 26 when i posted that time, however a unhealthy life style over the last 5 yrs has done some damage so it is time to get it back...lol....the pain the pain lol.

Well I do hope that those of you who read this enjoy reading it.

Just remember two things

"If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well."

Dare to dream for after all....WHO DARES WINS.

You may be in for a fun time. A buddy of mine here in CO is a British citizen still married to a US citizen. He applied for his citizenship last year, and is still waiting. I'm not sure how your divorce works but if you are not actually married to a US citizen it may cause real issues.

Hello from across the James. Which Dept are you applying for? I'm a Chesterfield County officer. You picked a good time to move to VA, nearly all depts are hiring. Both our PD and sheriff's dept are hiring currently with an academy for PD starting in Jan.

Hey ChesCopPodz,
Small world, I am indeed applying for Chesterfield PD, however due to citizenship issues I will have to wait till the Fall 05 Academy, however I will be allowed to go through the hiring process but if i am lucky enough to be hired then I will have to wait till I get my citizenship before starting the academy.
Yeah hope to have the papers for citizenship filed by Oct.

ChesCopPodz I sent you an e mail via officer.com , not sure if you will recieve .
