I recently read a Newsweek article about Metropolitan London using wi-fi cameras to combat drug problems. I am charged with dealing with huge drug problems in a relatively small area but the transient nature of the problem has caused fixed cameras to be impractical.

Anyone know anything about this project and/or the cameras used?

Yes. A lot.

What do you need to know?

The basics....

Are they remotely pointable or do they cover a fixed area?
If they have pan/tilt/zoom capabilities how is that activated?
Who is making the cameras being used and how expensive are they?
Are they using a dedicated wireless network or sharing access with civilian users in the area?

These cameras are obviously used in covert applications.

I am happy to answer your questions, and have PM'd you with my work email address.

If you can email me there with an official law enforcement address, I will be more than happy to assist.

See my sig line? Thats why!!!!

I understand fully. The only reason I brought my questions to this forum is that my emails to the general links for the Met have gone unreturned.

Thanks!
