View Full Version : Applying with Depts out of area

Hey, I could use some suggestions. Seems that non of the departments in my area have any interest in hiring me. I'm not exactly sure what the deal is. Rummor has it that me and my fiancee have been "black balled" so to speak...we can't even seem to get jobs and convience stores.

Needless to say it's rather depressing, not to mention frustrating, and we're having to scrap every dime we can just to meet the bills.

So, I've thought about it and I think we need to just get the hell out of this area. I've decided to apply to other departments around our state. However, we have the little (huge) problem of moving. I was hoping someone might have some suggestions, or experiance with moving after getting hired by a department. I'm trying to think of the easiest and cheapest ways to do this.

We have to move:
1 mobile home
1 horse
12 dogs
1 cat
and of course, all our stuff.

I've thought about the idea of getting an apartment and working while my fiancee works on getting things packed. Plus it would give me a chance to look around the area and find some nice property in our price range, plus I'd have a job to get a loan with.

I was wondering if anyone has ever done this before, and any problems they might have had with it?

Thanks

No joke, one of our 4 adult dogs had puppies, my daughter thought she was lonely and let our male into the bathroom...now we've got 12 dogs.

2 of the puppies are sold but the people we sold them to can't get them until sometime in June, 3 others are going to an animal shelter unless we can find homes for them. Mean while I've got a dead line, some of my certifications expire in November, therefore, I need to get hired on before then, that way I can just go to the classes that most departments around here have set up to re-certify their officers. Mean while my fiancee has a court case in April, so we have to wait until after that to move...

Yea, it's one big damn mess. Not to mention every car we own decided to break down this week...tomorrow I have to bump start one of them, just to be able to get to town to get the parts to fix the darn thing.

I'm rambling...sorry.

Anyhow, as I said before any suggestions would be helpful.
