I was wondering what the pros and cons are of using a belt mounted digital recorder. It seems that officer belts are already loaded with so much equipment. In what scenarios or police-related job situations does it make sense to wear such a device? This recorder would record interactions between an officer and other individuals and then have the capacity to download audio to a computer via connection cable. The device could also be used in a detective scenario for notetaking. The audio could be maintained by the officer or detective. It can also be uploaded to a central storage device within the department that could be accessed for transcription purposes. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
