Minimum Requirements
Education/Experience - applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that provides knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involves responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. A bachelor's degree in police science, criminal justice or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position is required -or- three years of creditable law enforcement experience.

Citizenship - must be a United States citizen

Driver's License - must possess a valid driver's license

First-year pay starts at an average of $34,324. After 12 months of service, most officers can earn about $37,186, depending on location.
