John whats the big hoohaa about the VicPol comms for the Commonwealth games....and a nice $10 mill gift you blokes got of Bracks ,get some work done now eh!!!but how long before it is gone ...cheers mate

G'day Gazza, I'm not sure about the Commonwealth Games but my understanding is that the extra $10mil is mainly for front-line operational equipment. It appears that we are to get a big update of resources both in the Crime and Highway Patrol Divisions.

I have a feeling that Law & Order is going to be an election issue.

I heard VP were due to have a digital radio network installed before the 2006 Commonwealth Games but that even that may be optimistic.

If the Victoria digital radio is anything like the UK's Airwave system, you are probably better staying with analogue.
